John A DeGregorio

John A. DeGregorio, born on December 21, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, at the age of 66.

John is the beloved Husband of Jennifer. Devoted Father of Jacob DeGregorio and Rebecca (Collin) O'Neill. Cherished Son-in-Law of Barbara LaPenta and Ronald (Judie) LaPenta. Fond Brother-in-Law of Nicole Carr and loving Uncle of Jorie Carr and Anthony Carr. John was preceded in death by his parents Maxine and John DeGregorio. John was also a nephew, cousin and friend to many.

John dedicated over three decades of his life to his career as a hardworking bus mechanic with the Chicago Transit Authority. For 31 years, he took pride in his work, ensuring the safety and reliability of public transportation for countless individuals. His commitment to his craft was a testament to his strong work ethic and dedication.

May John’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived.

A Funeral Mass will be held on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John Brebeuf Catholic Church, 8305 North Harlem Avenue, Niles, Illinois. Interment Private. Luncheon immediately following mass.
