John Thomas Barry, 40, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away on January 1, 2026. Born on December 20, 1985, in Boston, Massachusetts, John brought light and laughter to those around him throughout his life.
John dedicated many years of his career to Hanover Glass, where he honed his skills installing glass with care and precision. More recently, he joined the Local 1044 Glaziers Union, working alongside his brother-in-law C.J., a role that brought him both pride and camaraderie. Among his many professional accomplishments, John took particular pride in his work on the Toyota dealership on Main Street in Tewksbury.
Outside of work, John was a man of action and adventure. He found joy in riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, spending time on boats and fishing trips, building things with his hands, chopping wood, and going all out when decorating for Christmas. These passions reflected his energetic spirit and love for the outdoors. His infectious laugh and cheerful presence made him a beloved friend to many.
Above all else, John cherished his children, his daughter Shayna Helen Barry and son John Travis Barry who were the center of his world. He shared a deep bond with Rachel LaRose, the mother of his children and partner in life.
John is also remembered by his sister Nicole Fields; brother-in-law Charles Fields; nieces Leanne Durham and Kacie Durham; uncle Joseph Reid; grandmother Jackie Roberts; aunt Heidi Gilson; uncle James Barry; and cousin Gianna Donato. He was predeceased by his grandparents Catherine Good, Robert Good, and Joseph Reid.
A celebration of John's life will be held in the future in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Nicole will plan and update friends and family.
