John E. “Jack” Batzel Jr., known to family and friends simply as Jack, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family.
Jack was the beloved son of the late John and Jeanne Batzel. He was a devoted father to his sons, Eric Batzel and Mike Batzel and a loving father-in-law to Mike’s wife, Krissy. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Ava.
He is survived by his brothers Bill (Joan), Carl (Karen), and Scott (Laura), as well as his nephews Justin, Jeremy, Chris, and Andy, all of whom will remember him fondly.
Jack truly lived life in his own way. He had the soul of a hippie and a deep love for rock and roll. One of his favorite pastimes was watching the movie Woodstock, reliving the music and spirit of an era he always carried with him. He also found great joy in fishing and spending time on the golf course, appreciating the peace of the water and the camaraderie of a round of golf.
Above all, Jack loved his family. He will be remembered for his free spirit, his appreciation for music and the simple joys of life, and the many memories he created with those who loved him.
The family plans to hold a celebration of Jack’s life in the near future, where friends and loved ones will gather to share stories and honor his memory.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
