John Edward Boaz, 71, passed away on April 10, 2026, in Bonnerdale, AR. Born on January 30, 1955, John was a man of quiet demeanor who cherished the company of animals, particularly rescue dogs, and held a deep affection for his family and friends.
John dedicated many years to Toyota Logistics in California before embracing the life of a long-haul truck driver with Time Dedicated Carriers. Over the last 11 years, he found a second family among his colleagues and formed a special bond with his boss, Willie Stroup, often sharing stories of family and friends.
A proud veteran, John served in both the Army and Navy, where he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that military life offered. His love for classic cars and Corvettes was matched by his passion for surfing in his youth, boating, and traveling, exploring new places whenever he could.
John was a loving and devoted husband to Lucille D. Boaz for nearly 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; Daughter, Bonnie Franks, brother, Kelly D. Boaz; sister-in-law, Maggie Verhoeven; niece, Nicole C. Brown; and nephew, James Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Howell and Ed B. Boaz, and his brother, Steve Boaz.
A private Celebration of Life event will be held on May 9th, 2026. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory can be made to the City of Hot Springs Animal Services, 319 Davidson Dr., Hot Springs, AR 71901, an organization close to his heart due to his love for rescue dogs. John will be remembered as a generous, hardworking man who believed deeply in the good Lord and the goodness of people.
