John Charles Cheruka, 76, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of the Pocono Area of Pennsylvania where he lived for more than 40 years, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Born February 17, 1949, in Minersville, Pennsylvania, John was the son of Nicholas Cheruka and Ann Leeds. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Cheruka, and a devoted father to Jennifer Evans (Mike), and Chrystine Steenland (Bart Kline). He was a proud grandfather to John Steenland (Amanda), Kyle Steenland (Alessandra), and Kenneth Steenland (Taylor).
John was preceded in death by his brothers Nicholas Cheruka, and Ronald Cheruka.
The owner of CVSAS for more than 35 years, John was a respected Commercial Vehicle and Safety Specialist who trained and certified thousands of CDL truck and bus drivers nationwide.
John loved sports, music and attending concerts, and had a deep love for animals. He trained and barrel raced with his faithful horse Comanche, adored cats, and was a certified snake handler who participated in rattlesnake roundups.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time.
