John C. Dietz Jr; age 72, of Whitehall, MD, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025 with his loving wife by his side in Lakeland, FL.
John was the beloved husband of N. Elizabeth (Liz) Woppman-Dietz; father of Samantha Thomas (Keith) and Sean Dietz (Jen); and loving grandfather to Sydney, Grayson, and Declan. He was also a beloved brother to Carol Dietz. He was a well respected member of the community and held deep roots with his love for God.
John retired several years prior after a long fulfilling career as an optician with Hereford Eye Care. He was also an active life member with Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company with 43 years of service as well as a past member of several fire companies in Baltimore County during the 1970s.
A fire department memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday January 24, at Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company in John's name.
