John E. "Grumpy" Poloney, 79, passed away on January 18, 2026, in Seminole, Florida.
Born on September 22, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, John was the son of the late John and Dorothy Poloney. He was also preceded in death by two sisters.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, John served his country with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he built a life rooted in family and simple pleasures.
John had a deep appreciation for life's quieter joys. He found delight in games of chance and spent many hours watching classic movies that brought back memories of earlier times. A devoted fan of Frank Sinatra and the timeless voices of the 1950s and '60s, he often surrounded himself with music that echoed his era. He also enjoyed collecting coins—a hobby that reflected both his attention to detail and love for history.
He is remembered by his wife Dorothy; sons John D. Poloney (Stacey) and David J. Poloney; granddaughters Elizabeth (TJ) Warmack, Anastasia Poloney (Justin), Amanda Nazzaro; grandson Dakota McKinney; and a host of great-grandchildren.
