John Price Ganister, born May 14, 1954, died on June 11, 2025 in Colorado, where he had recently moved to. He spent almost his entire life on Spring Ave in Hatboro PA, and was affectionately known as the Mayor of Spring Ave. He loved walking around talking to neighbors, and was frequently seen pulling in the neighborhood garbage cans, mowing lawns, and sweeping snow off cars before the neighbors had a chance to shovel. He loved sending postcards from his many trips to Ocean City, NJ, and often brought gifts of popcorn or salt water taffy. John was kind and friendly, and everywhere we went, he was known affectionately. People asked about him.

He started his working life at a Chinese restaurant in Blair Mill Village, and then worked at SPS until he was laid off. He worked at Williamsons for many years and was known as Little John.

John will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Arrangements are by Baskwill Funeral Home in Hatboro and internment is in Hillside Cemetery in Glenside. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to WRDV (wrdv.org) in his memory.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Anne Ganister, of Colorado; a brother Larry Ganister and his wife Nanci, of Florida; sisters Linda Ganister and her wife Sue Duffy of Minnesota; and Nancy Reese and her husband Mike of Colorado. He is also survived by former sister-in-law Gae Ganister, nephews Steven and Jeffery Ganister and Quentin Reese, and niece Traci Reese.
