John Thomas Gomila

John T. Gomila beloved husband and father passed away peacefully at home November 13, 2025. John was born in New Orleans to the late John T. Gomila, Sr. and Dorothy C. Heintz Gomila. As a child he considered City Park his playground since the family lived 1 block away. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School and Southeastern Louisiana College. He worked for many companies including Coca Cola, Boeing, UPS, Federal Express, Levi Strauss, Merck Medco and Aetna RX Home delivery. While at Boeing, John worked on the team that tested and launched the Saturn V rocket that put a man on the moon.
John loved to read and watch football. He was a long time supporter of the New Orleans Saints through the good times and bad. He was said to be quiet at home and an empowering boss at work who was well like by those who worked for him.
He married Cathy F. Gomila who survives. He is also survived by his children, John T. Gomila III and Lisa Gomila Gray both of St. Charles, MO. He had 4 grandchildren, Cierra Gray Brown of St. Charles, Tony Gray of Chicago, Molly Gomila and Samantha Gomila of St. Charles. He also had 2 great grandchildren, Zoey and Mike.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
