John Asbury Roland Goodwin, Jr.

John Asbury Roland Goodwin, Jr., 87, of Painesville, entered into rest peacefully on February 22, 2026 at Reserve Care Hospice in Cleveland. Born January 30,1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia, Johnny was a graduate of Warwood High School and Bethany College. After a 30-year career at Mentor High School as a coach, teacher and unit principal, his students still reflect on his strength and commitment to them. In his retirement, he enjoyed working at Pleasant Hill Golf Course. However, his greatest achievement was caring for his family. Those who will remember him most; his wife, two sisters, two daughters, four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, as well as many other family and friends. PapPap is so loved and will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.
