John Henry Williams, 77, of Everett, Washington, passed away on February 21, 2026. Born on May 18, 1948, in Annapolis, Maryland he was adopted as a newborn by John and Dorothy Williams. His Annapolis roots were evident throughout his life in his distinctive accent and fondness for the East Coast. He is survived by his loving wife, Falina, whom he married on June 7, 1975, and their three children: Chad, Kyle, and Ashley. John was a devoted husband, father, and was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren.
After graduating from Annapolis High, John enlisted and served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 as a machinist mate on a nuclear submarine. Then as a passionate lover of history and political science, John went on to earn an Associate of Arts in Government Service from Anne Arundel Community College in 1974. He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in U.S. History and miner in Political Science.
John embraced a vocation in sales at Good Brothers' Ford in Weymouth, Ma. He was known affectionately as "Spanky" at the dealerships of his 32 years career as an auto representative. In his spare time, he was excited to participate in Everett’s government, even facilitating monthly meetings of the Cascade Neighborhood Association for a time. His commitment to service continued after his retirement, with a notable role at the American Cancer Society from October 2009 to 2011, which he regarded as his favorite job.
In 2015, John contracted encephalitis which began his journey with dementia, but we choose to remember him as he was before—a warm and welcoming host who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
The family will hold a private ceremony to honor John’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
