John (Jack) H Laing

John H (Jack) Laing, 89, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with pulmonary Fibrosis.
Jack was preceded in death by his father John H Laing Sr, his mother Virginia Burger Laing, his sister Barbara Lucas, and his daughter Susan Casto.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cathe, and 2 children, Jay Laing (Karen) and Cindy Laing. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Cody Laing, Eli Nelson (Bobbie); Elizabeth Nelson, Halle Jerome, and Annie Casto. He had 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
Jack retired from GE in 1999 after a wonderful 39-year career. He was extremely successful in retirement as a volunteer for many different organizations. He and Cathe shared many good times with friends and family both in town and on lots of fun trips.
Jack is a proud Army veteran, a graduate of West Va University and a huge sports fan particularly enthusiastic about WVU and UL. He and Cathe had much fun as avid sports fans and card-carrying members of CardNation.
Jack’s celebration of life will be at Middletown Christian Church; 500 N Watterson Trail; on Tuesday March 10. Visitation from 2-5; memorial service at 5.
