John Edward Moore Jr., 66, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, He was born and raised in Dover, Delaware, the son of John Edward "Jack" Moore Sr. and Susan Kathryn Reynolds
Known affectionately as "Jack," he attended Dover High School and Delaware Technical Community College. Jack lived a full life, wearing many hats over the years. He worked as a chef for several establishments, shared his love of music as a member of multiple bands—including Zigzag—spent time in construction, and ultimately retired from Perdue Farms as a Class 3 mechanic.

Jack found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. He had a passion for gardening, history, politics, and researching his family ancestry. In his younger years, he treasured time spent helping his grandfather on the family's farm, where he developed a lifelong interest in searching for arrowheads and Native American artifacts. In his final days, Jack lived with his sister, brother-in-law, and niece, where he continued to share his love of cooking—teaching new techniques—and spent time working on old cars with his brother-in-law.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, John Edward "Jack" Moore Sr.; his mother, Susan Kathryn Reynolds; his brother, Shawn G. Moore; his sons, John R. Moore and Shawn Vernon Moore (L.V.); and his niece, Erin W. Sasse.

He is remembered by his daughters, Trinity Legates and Amanda Nichols; his 4 beautiful grandchildren, his sister, Rhonda Moore-Sasse, and her husband, Erik Sasse; his sister, Sonya J. Clendaniel, and her husband, Jay Clendaniel; his brother, Jason C. Moore, and his wife, Tanya Moore; as well as five nephews, three nieces, two great-nephews, and two great-nieces.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Woodmill Apartments Community Center, 1300 Farmview Drive, Dover, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, donations toward his final expenses would be greatly appreciated. In C/O Rhonda Moore-Sasse

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
