John Andrew “Jack” Jones, Jr., 75, passed away on November 24, 2025, at Silverado Memory Care in Frederick, Maryland, after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. A man of unwavering faith, tireless dedication, and boundless love for his family and friends, Jack left this world as he lived in it—ready for the next big job.

Born on June 4, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jack was raised with strong values of hard work and service. He graduated from Lansdowne Senior High School in 1968 and went on to attend the University of Maryland, College Park for two years. From an early age, Jack was immersed in the construction world. As a little boy, he would accompany his father and uncles to job sites, learning the trade hands-on. Long before he could legally drive a car, Jack was already confidently operating an excavator.

His career formally began while he was still in high school. Over time—and through sheer determination and skill—he rose through the ranks to become a foreman. In 1993, Jack was recruited by Bradshaw Construction Corporation, specialists in tunnel construction. Over the next 26 years with Bradshaw, Jack became an indispensable leader. At the time of his departure from the company, he held the title of Company General Superintendent. In this role, he supervised complex projects across the United States while mentoring countless employees through training and hands-on guidance. His legacy in the construction industry is marked not only by the structures he helped build but by the people he inspired along the way.

In 1970, Jack proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army Ready Reserves. He served his country for six years and achieved the rank of SP4 (Grade E4) before receiving an honorable discharge in 1976.

Jack was a devoted Southern Baptist with a deep and abiding faith in his Lord and Savior. He actively supported missionary outreach efforts, especially those based in Alaska. His spiritual life was a guiding force that shaped his actions and relationships throughout his life.

While Jack’s professional accomplishments were many, his heart belonged to those closest to him. He is survived by his beloved wife Pamela Blank Jones. Jack and Pam were high school and college sweethearts who reconnected at a Lansdowne reunion in 2008 after 37 years apart. From that day forward until August 2025—when Jack moved to Silverado Memory Care in Frederick—they never spent a single day without talking, texting, or hugging. Together they filled every moment with love, laughter, and joy.

Jack is also lovingly remembered by his brother Bill Jones (Jan); sister Patty Judy (Larry); stepdaughter Arielle Herschfeld (Ryan Creighton) step grandson Seth Creighton; nieces Sara Hostler (Joe), Tammy Hoke (Pastor Matt), Trini Lilly (Pastor Rob), and Alexis Jones; nephews Tim Jowanowitch (Steph), Ben Jones (Jen), and Michael Jones (Mandy); as well as Patty and Larry's large extended family, Pam's family, and numerous cousins whose lives he touched deeply.

He was predeceased by his mother Mabel (Mable) Bucklew Jones Bates; father John Andrew “Andy” Jones Sr.; and sister Trudy Jones Jowanowitch.

Jack’s zest for life extended far beyond work. He had a passion for racquetball and softball and was an avid fan of NASCAR races—especially Talladega—country music concerts, travel (with Maui holding a special place in his heart), and all things Baltimore sports: Ravens football, Orioles baseball, and Blast soccer games were among his favorite pastimes.

Though dementia eventually slowed him down physically, it never dimmed his spirit. When Jack was laid to rest next to his father, at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville—true to form—he was dressed for action: long-sleeve tiny plaid shirt with pen, pencil, and glasses in the pocket; Wrangler jeans; Red Wing work boots; Bradshaw waterproof jacket; his cherished 2009 Daytona 500 hat on his head; and resting on his chest was his well-worn brown round hard hat covered in stickers. Inside it? A brand-new Rain Rite field book with blank pages—ready to begin again.

Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew him but will be remembered with countless smiles for the joy he brought into every room he entered.

May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him—and may we all carry forward his legacy of hard work, faithfulness, humor, and heart.
