John Jones, of Colton, Oregon, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 74.
John was born on August 24, 1951, in Hermiston, Oregon, and later settled with his family in Milwaukie, Oregon.
John was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Jones; his daughters, Chrissy Hobbins (Kevin) and Deseere' Cruz; and his cherished grandchildren, Porter, Damon, and Titus. He is also survived by his sister, Barb King, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
An avid outdoorsman, John was happiest when hunting and fishing, especially when those moments were shared with family and the many lifelong friends he held close. The outdoors was where he felt most at peace, and some of his favorite memories were made in the quiet of the woods or on the water.
John spent the majority of his adult life working for the City of Portland, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication. His commitment to his work and community reflected the pride he took in providing for his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in John's memory to the Oregon Wildlife Foundation, honoring his deep love for the outdoors and wildlife conservation.
John will be remembered for his steadiness, generosity, quiet humor, and deep love for those around him. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, and his legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly.
