John Paul Kuti

John Kuti Jr. peacefully went to be with the lord, on March 3, 2026, at home, with his wife of 54 years, Diane, by his side.

John was born in Buffalo, NY in April 1950. Buffalo gave him a love of food and family that he brought to Virginia in 1975, when his work as a cabinet maker relocated him south. While he would later leave the profession, he never lost his skill, nor his passion for woodworking. After leaving Biggs furniture in the 80s, John enjoyed a long career with Dave Jones and Associates.

He was an amazing chef, handyman, and fisherman among other talents and loved sharing his gifts with family, friends, and the community. He was an active member of Beulah Methodist Church for over 40 years.

He was preceeded in death by his parents John Sr. and Bernadette, his sister Mary, and his son Jason.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, his sister Lynn, his daughters-in-law Laura, Amy, and Crystal, his sons Andrew and David, and his grandchildren Abby, Evan, Austin, Ben, Desmond, and Claire.

His family is thankful for the hospice caretakers who treated him with dignity in his final weeks, the medical staff at Henrico Doctors Hospital who gave him a successful heart transplant in 2003, and the doctors and nurses at VCU who gave him excellent care in recent years.

His memorial service will be held at Beulah Methodist Church at on March 13th at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Beulah or the American Heart Association.
