John Carl Muesing

John Carl Muesing, 67, of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2025, surrounded by his wife and daughter.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 24, 1958, John was the beloved son of Virginia Wurth Muesing and the late Leslie Gordon Muesing. He attended Wabash College, where he earned a degree in economics, and later lived in California and Arizona before making his way to North Carolina. From a young age, he loved flying his father's airplane. That passion for the skies grew into a remarkable 37-year career as an airline pilot, with John especially enjoying the international routes between the United States and Europe.

John had a passion for the outdoors and adventure. He grew up water skiing at his parents' lake house and enjoyed snow skiing. After moving to North Carolina, he loved biking at Lake Norman State Park, boating on Lake Norman, and visiting Banner Elk and the Highlands, places that brought him peace and happiness. John never missed a chance to sneak a joke during serious moments, always keeping everyone laughing. He had a natural gift for making everyone feel welcome and often took on the role of DJ at family and friends' gatherings, filling rooms with laughter and music. John's generosity extended beyond family; friends and neighbors often recall his willingness to lend a hand or an ear.

He will be remembered for his radiant smile, quick wit, and adventurous spirit. Above all, John cherished his family and close friends, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and generosity that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Lisa Marie Muesing; children, Ashley Muesing Garner (Brian) and John Ryan Muesing; stepchildren, Tyler Dacaret (Sabrina), Megan Dacaret, and Preston Dacaret; grandchildren, James Carl Garner (Ashley's son), Mateo Dacaret (Tyler's son); mother, Virginia Wurth Muesing; and sister, Leslie Krake.
