He was an avid photographer with his favorite subjects being his family and friends. You could find him at the golf course on nice days. He loved working on his 1998 Ford Mustang Convertible. He was seen cruising at the Wayne Cruise with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He would go from another of his favorite pastimes, hunting, to feeding "his deer" for enjoyment in the backyard! He was a talented landscaper and lover of flowers who won a Home Beautification Award multiple times from the city of Wayne. The landscaping brought a diverse amount of wildlife, especially birds, that he enjoyed watching. He had a love for God and loved serving others at whatever church he was at, including helping the hospitality committee. He lived his life following the verse of love your neighbor as yourself. if anyone came to him with needs he would drop everything to help them. He would not just do for them, but he loved sharing his knowledge with those that he helped so that they could then help themselves and others. He had a wonderful sense of humor which created a house filled with much laughter. Family was known to say that "it's not a party until John gets here."
