John Allen Pentycofe, age of 66, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Greece, NY. Born on June 1, 1959, John was known for his caring, hardworking, and devoted nature. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren, leaving a legacy of love and kindness.
John proudly served in the Navy, dedicating himself to the values of honor and commitment that defined his military and civilian life alike. Professionally, he was a skilled machinist at Ariel Corporation in Mount Vernon, OH, where he was respected for his precision and dedication.
Beyond his professional and military life, John was passionate about his hobbies which included listening to music, watching movies, engaging in woodworking, and enjoying campfires with friends and family. These activities brought great joy to John and those who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Adam Pentycofe, Matthew Pentycofe, and Mary (Josh) Jacobs; Skyler, Austin, and Nathan Pentycofe; and 3 grandchildren his brother, James (Brenda) Pentycofe; and sisters, Vicky (Erich) Jones, Tracy (Paul) Rowan, Debby (Jerry) Nusz, Tina Pentycofe, and Cheryl (Steve) Podyma. John was preceded in death by his father, James Pentycofe; mother, Carolyn Cornelius; and Sue Chambers, mother to Adam, Matthew, and Mary.
A service to celebrate John's life will be held on February 21, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The family invites all who knew John to join in remembering his life and contributions. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of John. His kindness, dedication, and loving spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
