John was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, loved his polkas and would dance as much as he and Jean could. Another favorite past time was playing cards, he would play all sorts, but his favorite being Sheepshead. Anyone he met, the first question he asked was if they knew how to play Sheepshead, he could play that all day long. He loved woodworking using his scroll saw and enjoyed attending craft fairs where he would sell his scroll work items, he also generously gave these items as gifts to family and friends.
