John Joseph Rapp passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the age of 83 with his family by his side. John lived life fully and on his own terms, always with a sense of adventure and a genuine love for the people around him. He had an easy smile, a welcoming heart, and a way of making everyone feel like a friend.
John is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Jeanne, his partner in life and love. Together they built a life filled with memories, laughter, and family.
He leaves behind his children:
- Jacqueline Coots (Greg) and their children Jake, Melissa, and Seth
- John Rapp (Jacquelyn) and their children John Joseph, Jonah, and Jenna
- Suzanne Miller (Geoff) and their children Ryan, Sean, and Jason
- Jennifer Deatherage (Steve) and their children Haley and Emma
John also leaves behind his constant companion and four-legged best friend, Zoey, who rarely left his side.
He is survived by his siblings Phil, Janice, and Doug, and was preceded in death by his brother Ron.
Adventure was a big part of John's life. He loved racing Hobie Cats around Florida, sailing his 38' sailboat, RAPATAK, to the Bahamas, riding his Harley across the country with friends, and then later exploring the U.S. in his RV with his wife and best friends. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and later spent his career in sales—where his gift for conversation and connecting with people truly shined. John honestly never met a stranger.
More than anything, John loved being "Grampy." Time with his grandchildren meant everything to him, and he was happiest watching them grow and cheering them on through every stage of life.
Per John's wishes, no services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.
John will be deeply missed, but his stories, laughter, and love will live on through the many lives he touched.
