John Raymond "Gud" Rebora, born on September 24, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on January 1, 2026, in Elk Grove, Illinois. He was 70 years old.
John was the beloved son of the late Benedict and Margaret Rebora and brother to the late James Rebora. His life was deeply rooted in family and community, and he will be remembered for his spirited personality and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
He is survived by his three daughters: Melissa Rebora, Natalie Olson, and Lauren Piotrowski. John took immense pride in his role as a father and found great joy in watching his family grow. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Leo Piotrowski, Luke Piotrowski, and Charlotte Olson. He also leaves behind his sister Margaret (Cricket) Hogue and her husband Larry Hogue; niece Jennifer Lopresti; nephew Kevin Hogue; great-niece Ava Lopresti; nephew-in-law Mike Lopresti; and sons-in-law Jeff Piotrowski and Tim Olson.
John had a lifelong passion for sports. A devoted fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and White Sox, he followed his teams with enthusiasm and loyalty. Whether cheering from the stands or from home, sports were a constant source of excitement in his life.
Above all else, John treasured time spent with family. He was known for bringing people together—whether at family gatherings or lively celebrations—and always loved a good party. His warmth, humor, and presence made every occasion more memorable.
