John Paul Saccone, 72, of Trumbull, CT passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on November 4, 2025, following a brief illness. John was born in Bridgeport Connecticut to John and Beatrice (nee Tyrrell) Saccone and lived most of his life in Trumbull. Early on, John worked at Fairfield Hills Hospital where he met many longtime friends, including his wife, Gail, and they cured each other! He had a variety of jobs in different trades, ultimately landing as a security courier, and in the law enforcement supply business.
John enjoyed meeting and talking with people from all walks of life and had many friends among first responders, veterans, and in law enforcement. He loved all eras of history, especially WWII, and would almost always "beat the narrator" in identifying battles, armament, weapons, aircraft, or ships while watching history shows and documentaries. His pride in his daughter's aeronautical career knew no bounds, and it brought him great joy to know he helped fire her passion by taking her to many airshows as a child. John enjoyed listening to classic rock (turned up loud), driving his Jeep (particularly out West and off-road), good friends, good food, and good bourbon (Knob Creek).
John was predeceased by several beloved dogs who were no doubt, ready to greet him once again. John is survived by his very loved German Shepherd, Fero (aka Chubby), his wife of 46 years Gail (nee Wohlsen), daughter Raina Duncan (husband Joey), sister Susan Jackson, 2 nephews and 2 grandchildren (Alyce and Jack). A memorial celebration of his life will be held after the holidays and most definitely will include bourbon.
