On October 14th of this year, "Jack" as he preferred, succumbed to his declining health at age 92.
He was born in Vanderhoof, BC in difficult times, and was taken from his home at a young age to live with his siblings in a foster home.
Perhaps this was the catalyst of making him as fundamentally independent as he was, always wanting to take care of his own affairs and not being particularly sociable... his best times were focused around his own home.
In 1956, he met his future wife Ruby when she was just 17 years old, but with his persistence that he had in great supply when he was motivated, won her and her parents over... they were married just six months later.
Together, they fathered three children... Robert and twins Brenda and Wendy.
He truly believed that the problems one has in your life, are only solved by yourself... and not by the charity of others.
He worked many different jobs in his life, from being a lumberjack to a woodworker to an instrument engineer within the aviation industry, but his greatest passion was to care and maintain his own home.
He is predeceased by his wife of 66 years Ruby, and every one of his nine siblings. He is survived by his children Robert, Wendy and Brenda, and his grand-children Shane, Andrew, Matthew, William and Samantha, with many great grand-children as well.
It is with a great hope that heading to the light will allow you to finally see it... for yourself.
