John Traficante Sr., 59, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026. Born on January 1, 1967, he grew up in Dorchester, Massachusetts, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed the strong values of family, loyalty, and hard work that guided him throughout his life.
John was predeceased by his beloved parents, Angelo Traficante and Viola LaCivita.
John's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Traficante, with whom he built a strong and devoted partnership filled with love and lasting memories. He was a proud and dedicated father to Karl Traficante, John Traficante Jr., Kevin Traficante, Brandon Traficante, Jeremy Traficante, and Marisa Traficante. He cherished each of his children deeply and took immense pride in the individuals they became.
He was also a devoted grandfather to Karl, Andrew, Angela, Braelynn, and Matthew. His grandchildren brought him tremendous pride and joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
John is also survived by his sister, Marie Stone and her husband, Rick Stone, of Glendale, Arizona, along with extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly.
A passionate coin collector, John found joy in history and the stories behind each unique piece. His collection reflected his patience, curiosity, and appreciation for life's meaningful details. He also held a special place in his heart for Key West, Florida, where the sunshine and ocean air brought him peace and happiness.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service honoring John's life on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Cape Faith Church in Osterville, Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will follow at 54 East Bayview Road, Dennis, Massachusetts.
John will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his steady presence, and the warmth he brought into every room. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
