John Wagner

1942 - 2025

John Charles "Jack" Wagner, 83, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida.

Born on March 30, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jack lived a life marked by dedication to his work, devotion to his family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He began his professional journey at Westinghouse in the 1970s as a tool and die maker. Over the years, he advanced through roles as a shop inspector and foreman before transferring to the Nuclear Division in 1984. His commitment and expertise culminated in a distinguished career as a Nuclear Engineer. After an impressive 53 years of service, Jack retired with pride and satisfaction in all he had accomplished.

Jack also served his country with honor as a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves for six years. His sense of duty and discipline carried through every aspect of his life.

In his younger years, Jack was an avid softball player and fisherman who also enjoyed playing golf. He found great joy in coaching his daughters' softball teams, sharing not only skills but cherished memories that would last a lifetime. In retirement, he split his time between Georgia and Florida, relishing moments spent with his daughters and grandchildren. Whether cheering from the sidelines or simply enjoying their company, Jack treasured every opportunity to be with them.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Jennifer (Brian) Riley and Joy (Tripp) Greeson; grandchildren Drew and Merrill Greeson; sister-in-law Joyce Bowling; niece Lisa (Jim) Prince; and nephew Bryan Bowling.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and John E. Wagner and by Nancy (Cook) Wagner.

A familiar figure in his neighborhood during retirement, Jack could often be found sitting in his garage chatting with neighbors—always ready with a story or a smile. His presence brought warmth to those around him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire lives grounded in hard work, love for family, and quiet generosity.
