John Alden Williams Jr

John Alden Williams Jr., age 75, of Keysville, Virginia, passed away on February 2, 2026.

Born on September 3, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia, John lived a life defined by hard work and deep love for those around him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

John served his country in the United States Army, followed by service in the United States Air Force. He later spent 20 years with the Norfolk Naval Base Fire Department, where he served as a District Fire Chief. He also worked for many years with Tri-Boro Shelving Company, where he made lifelong friends and was highly respected for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Williams, whom he married on August 17, 1997. Together, they blended a family that includes three children, eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie Williams (1994) and John Alden Williams Sr. (1968), and his sister, Margaret Williams (2025).

Those who knew John remember him as a loving and gentle soul with a sharp wit. He had a special connection with animals, who seemed naturally drawn to him, and his presence brought comfort to those around him.

A private family service was held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, officiated by a close friend and pastor.

He will be remembered by those who loved him and shared life with him.
