It is with great sadness that we have to share the passing of Joseph "Chet" Buckley on 12/22/2025 at the age of 67.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth and his brother Daniel. Chet was the much-loved brother of Frank Buckley (Roslyn), Susan Buckley (Tom Holmes), Nancy Buckey, and Thomas Buckley (Linda). Loving uncle to Kyle (Emily) and Jack (Kelly) and great-uncle to Leo and Max. He will be missed by all of them including his sister-in-law Pat Rocco (Daniel Buckley). He was a devoted dog dad to Sasha.
Chet had many longtime friends that he knew from grade school and high school. He was known to all of his family and friends for being extremely funny. His dry wit and sense of humor was a characteristic that people often commented on. His love of music, movies and long-distance bike rides brought him much happiness.
During his career, Chet worked at Ingalls Hospital in the Purchasing Department and Pace Suburban Bus in the Parts and Supply Department. He was always well liked by his supervisors and co-workers. Known for strong work ethic, knowledge and sense of humor. Even through his many years of chemotherapy, he rarely missed work.
His last few years involved far too much time in hospitals dealing with his Lymphoma and numerous other medical issues, from which he finally has relief from his pain and suffering. Due to his deteriorating health, he spent the last year living with Tom and Linda.
There will be a celebration of Chet's life at a later date. Information and details will be provided on Facebook.
