Joseph Alan Burdette "Joe" passed away peacefully at home in Mount Hope, KS, on November 19, 2025.

Joe was born in Charleston, WV, to parents Ralph and Betty Burdette. He graduated high school from Akron, IA. He was baptized in the Christian faith and had a gift of service to others. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend.

Joe was kind with a brilliant mind and many skills. He obtained a bachelor's degree in finance. His many skills allowed him to be an owner/operator of Hansen Plumbing and Heating with his father-in-law Ford Hansen, excel in many sales and marketing roles most notably with KG&E/Western Resources and enjoy helping others later in his career as a Maintenance Technician. He enjoyed working with his hands and was always willing to offer advice and wisdom.

Joe is survived by his wife and her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, her mother, 8 brothers and sisters and a large extended family, his first wife Teresa Hansen the mother of his 3 sons, and their families: Ryan and Amanda Burdette, their daughters Grace, Ava and Sophia; Adam Burdette and his sons Conner and Mason; and Joseph Burdette, his mother, Betty Burdette and siblings Susie and Steve Matulis, Charleston, WV, Deb and Dave Port and two sons Aaron and Kenan, Naples, FL, Monti and Doug Black, Woodlands, TX, their daughters family Laura and Allen Graham, sons Samuel and Elijah, Washington D.C., Becky Chapin and Mike Devitt, Forest City, IA, Mark Burdette, his children Hannah, Joshua, Lily, Land Naomi, Little Rock, AR, Billie Jo Burdette, So. Charleston, WV; John and Lynn Burdette, So. Charleston, WV. Joe is preceded in death by his father Ralph Burdette and brother Gene.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 pm, 400 W. Main, Mount Hope, KS 67108. Lunch will be served at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, gift cards are appreciated. The family has also set up a fundraiser to help with expenses at:

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Joe. He will be missed and forever loved. His light shined brightly; his soul and spirit now live for eternity in Christ.
