Joseph "Jed" Dorsey

Joseph Edward "Jed" Dorsey, age 71, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Concord, New Hampshire.

Born on January 29, 1955, in Everett, Massachusetts. Jed was the beloved son of the late Edward Dorsey and Jean Marie (Guittarr) Dorsey. He grew up in Charlestown, MA, and attended St. Francis de Sales School, graduating with the class of 1968, and went on to graduate from Pope John XXIII High School in 1972.

Jed dedicated over three decades to working as a lineman for the phone company—a career marked by commitment, hard work and humor. He was a proud part of the IBEW2321 Union. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

After retiring, Jed fulfilled his dream of living in the country with nature and animals. He moved to Pittsburg, New Hampshire, where he spent the past 25 years.

A free spirit and gentle soul, Jed found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting and fishing in the North Country woods and waters he called home. His days were often filled with tending to his garden or caring for his chickens and goats. Whether sharing stories with friends or enjoying peaceful solitude outdoors, Jed lived life on his own terms—authentically and wholeheartedly.

He is survived by his sisters Beth Dorsey Kelley and Jane Dorsey; Nieces Kara and Evan and one grandniece.
He leaves behind many cousins and friends.

Jed was deeply loved by those who knew him and will be greatly missed. May his memory bring comfort to all whose lives he touched.

At this time, there are no services per Jed's wishes. There will be a Celebration of Life in Pittsburg, NH at a later date.
