Joseph David Foreman, known to all as Dave, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home on January 8, 2026. His life was one of quiet strength, adventure, ingenuity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Nellie Turner; his brother, Maurice Turner; his beloved son, Tony Turner; and his late wife, Pam Perry Foreman, who passed in 2004.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 20 years, Kandy Foreman, whose love and companionship filled his later years with joy and purpose. He is also survived by his children: Todd Turner (Melanie), Tina Sanders (Keenan), Candi Pugh (Asa), Amy Bennett, Kody Seamon (Lauren), and Amanda Laster (Ryan); and by his cherished grandchildren: Kinlee and Talon Sanders; Asa and Madison Pugh; Vivian and Karson Partridge; Kolbyn and Kandyn Bennett; and Anndon Fletcher. Dave is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were blessed to know him.

Born on August 7, 1943, in rural Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Dave was raised in the historic Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, where his family worked as tobacco farmers. Those early years shaped his work ethic, humility, and deep respect for honest labor.

Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed with NORAD as an airspace controlman. His fascination with flight led him to earn his pilot's license and he learned how to make bold razor sharp aerobatic maneuvers as a crop duster over the Kentucky fields. His mechanical brilliance carried him through many successful careers, including a master mechanic for General Motors and a lineman for BellSouth. A natural entrepreneur, Dave later owned and operated two highly successful telephone communications companies, earning a reputation as a sharp, resourceful, and fair-minded businessman.

Life with Dave was never dull. He found joy in sponsoring race car teams, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and exploring the open road in his motorhome. A gifted storyteller and a wellspring of wisdom, Dave had a way of making every conversation memorable. He was always ready to help, to listen, or to offer advice that came from a lifetime of experience.

Above all else, Dave loved his family fiercely. Every sacrifice, every long day, and every bold venture was rooted in his desire to provide, protect, and leave something meaningful behind. He loved his wife, Kandy, with his whole heart, and she loved him just as deeply.

To know Dave was to know a truly remarkable man—one whose life could not be summed up in a single role or title. He was, quite simply, one of the most interesting people you could ever meet. Dave will be deeply missed, but his stories, laughter, and lessons will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

After a lifetime of spiritual doubt, Dave gave his life to Jesus and he was saved about nine years ago. He proclaimed his new life as a Christ follower by water baptism in 2017. We find comfort in knowing that his journey is complete and that he is finally at peace in heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There will be a Celebration of Life in memory of Dave Foreman on Sunday, January 18th, from 2:00-4:00 at Eastside Baptist Church, 1700 Viking Dr, Jasper, AL 35501. Flowers or gifts will be accepted at Eastside Baptist Church for Dave's Celebration of Life. For monetary donations, please send to Kandy Foreman or Venmo @TinaSanders137.
