Joseph Jesse Hannon

Joseph Jesse "Joe" Hannon, 64, of Coventry, passed away on March 12, 2026, at home with family. Joe was born on September 7, 1961, in Tolland, Connecticut.

Joe was born a natural farmer and spent much of his life working on local area farms. He eventually went on to start a construction company where he poured foundations. Joe was a skilled worker who took on a variety of other jobs within the construction field. In his final years, Joe worked for Heckler Brothers Dairy Farm.

Joe was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and watching old western films. He also took pleasure in making memories while traveling, especially to Lake George, New York. Joe often sang along and danced to his favorite music, including Steve Miller Band, Elvis, and country music.

Joe leaves behind his beloved partner of many years, Sherri Dorsey, along with his daughter Sarah (Austin) Sheeler of Colchester, and their children, Olivia, Emily, Violet, Lily, Everett, Atlas, and Hailey, and his son David (April) Hannon of Manchester, and their son Bobby. He is also survived by his siblings, John (Cindy) Hannon of Ashford, Catherine Hannon of Coventry, Michael Hannon of Coventry, Patrick (Judy) Hannon of Broad Brook, and Rosemarie Hannon of Ashford, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents David and Nancy Hannon, and his brother James Hannon.

Joe will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 10th at 11:00am, at St. Mary's Church (1600 Main Street, Coventry, CT) with a burial ceremony immediately following at Coventry Cemetery.
