Joseph L Kaster

Joseph "Joe" L. Kaster, age 80, of Girard, Ohio, passed away on January 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Joe was born on April 12, 1945, in Warren, Ohio, to Joseph and Pearl Kaster. He was a graduate of Maplewood High School and later attended a technical college, where he completed his education becoming a skilled blast furnace operator. Joe dedicated 32 years of service to Thomas Steel Strip Corporation in Warren, Ohio, retiring after a long and proud career.

Outside of work, Joe had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, restoring and admiring antique cars, fishing, camping, painting, and repairing cars and motorcycles. He will be fondly remembered by friends and family for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Kaster. Sherry was his devoted caregiver during his illness. The couple married on January 23, 1997, and shared 28 wonderful years together. He is also survived by his children Edward Kaster, Christine Zeek (William), and Joseph Kaster; his grandchildren Angelina Becker (Zachary), Mitchell Campana, and Elizabeth Molitor (Gabriel); and his great-grandchild Obsidian A. Becker.

In addition, Joe is survived by his stepchildren, April Marsh (Michael), Audrey Robinson (Kristin), Michelle Green (Antwan) and Terry Grimwood (Carrie); his step-grandchildren, David, Rayna, Mason, Chloe, Chase, Jordan, Amani, Kaydyn, Leo, Logan, Lydia, Gavin and Lillian; and his step-great-grandson, Waelyn. Joe is survived by his brothers James Kaster, Lawrence Kaster and Brian Kaster (Connie).

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Henry and Mary Smith; parents Joseph and Pearl Kaster; brother William Kaster; sister Charlotte Kaster; sisters-in-law Rosemary and Lynn Kaster; and his step-grandchild, Kylee Grimwood.

As Joe didn't want calling hours or a funeral the family will have a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at noon at Mosquito Lake State Park, Mosquito Lake Beach Pavilion. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joe's life and legacy.
