Joseph Patrick Kelly Jr. passed away in his home on January 19, 2026, at the age of 54 in Spokane, WA. Born on March 9, 1971 in Grand Coulee, Wa to Lynn and Joseph Patrick Kelly, Sr., Joe spent most of his life in the Pacific Northwest, where he was deeply rooted in his community and career.
Joe was a cherished figure in his workplace at Bargain Giant foods, where he was affectionately known as "Big Joe the Butcher," a role he dedicated himself to for 38 years. His work was not just a job but a place where he made countless friendships and impacted many lives with his kindness and jovial spirit.
He graduated from John R. Rogers High School in 1989, and though he did not pursue further formal education, he was well-educated in the lessons of life, bringing joy and comfort to those around him.
Joe was a man of many interests, including music, movies, and video games. He was particularly fond of bicycling, an activity that allowed him to explore and enjoy the outdoors. His love for spending time with family and friends was evident in the way he lived his life, always making time for those he cared about.
Joe is survived by his siblings, Josie (Ernie) Sisson, John Kelly, Jennifer (Jason) Hill of Moses Lake, and Michele Moe of Couer d'Alene, ID. His life was enriched by the presence of many other family members and friends who will miss his warm hugs and open-hearted nature. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Joseph Patrick Kelly Sr.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on March 9, 2026, at Greenwood Memorial Terrace at 2:30 pm. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved mother, marking a serene conclusion to his journey here on earth.
