Send Flowers
In the early morning hour of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Joseph Henry Lucero passed away at St. Vincent's Healthcare after a short battle fighting liver cancer with his children by his side.

Born in Billings MT, on March 2, 1951 to parents Patricia Briceno and Louis Lucero, Joe had a large family full of siblings.

Joe attended the Job Corps in California, and later enlisted in the army. After serving, he became a parent to son, Joseph Henry Lucero, Jr. and daughter, Autumn Lucero. Joe had a variety of employment over the years. Early on he was an employee with Master Lube. He loved working on vehicles, and attending car shows throughout the Billings community. He was also employed with A.W.A.R.E working with adults with developmental disabilities setting up an auto detailing shop where they learned workforce skills and job development. His most devoted and beloved job was a care-giver for his late wife Vicki, who had multiple sclerosis. Once she passed away he stepped back into the workforce by helping out at Goodwill and Albertson's. No matter which job he was working at he always did it with a smile, cheerful attitude and was hard at work.

When he wasn't working you could find him grabbing a meal at Sam's Place or attending his grandchildren's athletic events which brought him so much joy. He loved food, watching his grandchildren play sports, and spending time with his loved ones including dogs!

Joe is survived by his children, Joey and Autumn (Steve) Lucero, brothers John (Jen) Lucero, Manny Lucero, Michael Lucero and Joel. His sisters Mary (Henri) Wordan, Sara Dalton, and Augie Kirkpatrick. Grandchildren Dominic, Faith, and Ryan Lucero, Lincoln McMorris and great grand-daughter, Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents Patricia and Louis, siblings, Joe Louis, Freddy, Jimmy, Louisa, Julie Ann and his wife Vicki.

Please gather in remembrance on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 at 12:00 at Hope Center Church, 425 S. Broadway to honor Joseph Lucero. A pot luck luncheon will follow the service.
