Joseph "Joe" Mayo, of Rochester, New York, passed away on December 7, 2025. He was born on January 23, 1961, in Athens, Pennsylvania.
Joe devoted his career to the electrical trade, beginning as a union electrician and later establishing himself as a self-employed professional. His dedication to his work was evident in the skill and reliability he brought to every project. Over the years, he earned the respect of both colleagues and clients through his consistent craftsmanship and strong work ethic.
Joe had a giving heart and put others before himself. He was there to give a ride, cook a meal, fix whatever was broken, or just be there as a friend. Joe faced a debilitating disease with bravery, humor, and a determination to keep as active as he possible. Joe was a good man.
He is remembered by his sons, Jacob (Sabbatha Pawlukewicz) Mayo and Joe (Brandy)Mayo; his beloved grandson, Jace Mayo; his brothers, William Mayo Jr. and John Mayo; his sister, Debra Deuel; and his best friend Jenise LaLond. Joe was preceded in death by his father, William Mayo Sr., and his mother, Mildred Decker.
May Joseph's memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
