Joseph Mariano Streva was born on February 5, 1934 to Salvatore and Francesca Streva in San Fernando, CA. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family on November 22, 2025.

After graduating from San Fernando High, he entered the Army during the Korean War. After the Army, Joe kept himself busy at Pepperdine University earning a Masters Degree in education, teaching special needs children to swim, and occasionally worked as a handyman for his parents.

One day a call came in for a tenant who had repair needs. It was sheer luck that her daughter was visiting that day and Joe fell hard for this fiery redhead. Joseph and Frances were married a mere 6 months later and within a few years, added three children to their happy household. They were married 50 wonderful years.
Anyone who knew him would describe him as "always involved". He was successful in everything he put his mind to. He was a teacher and counselor, farmer, community leader, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He gave his all and was always there if you needed him. His deep love for his family was seen and felt in his unwavering support and love.

While he will be deeply missed, the impact he has made on this world was enormous. He waited a long 11 years to get home to his beloved Frances, and they are no doubt dancing again. Joseph leaves behind his children Cindy Murray, Kevin Streva, and Lisa Hunnicutt as well as his cherished grandchildren Heather Murray, Kirra Murray, and Ethan Hunnicutt. Services will be held at a future date.

**His strength and determination will continue to inspire us to love hard and be the best we can be. **
