1978 - 2025

Joshua Ryan Busby, age 47, passed away on November 30, 2025.

Josh was born on October 27, 1978, in Irving, Texas, and was raised in Arkansas. From an early age, he developed the independence, determination, and strength that carried him into adulthood. He grew up with natural confidence, a quick sense of humor, and an unmistakable spark behind his blue eyes that made him memorable to all who knew him. Those early years helped shape the man he became—as a father, friend, and professional.

Following high school, Josh moved away for college, eager to broaden his experiences and build a life shaped by ambition and purpose. After college, while living outside Chicago, his drive and ability to connect with others led him into a career in commercial real estate—a field he loved and in which he excelled.

After time in Cleveland, Josh eventually settled in Orlando, where he started a family and welcomed his sons, Zackary and Jake. He shared many important years of his life with Stacie, the mother of his children, with whom he built a life centered around their boys.

He enjoyed traveling, live music, good food, golf, football, and time near the water. Known for his unmistakable laugh, spot-on impressions, great bear hugs, and warm energy, he had a presence that filled a room.

Time spent with his boys was deeply valued —whether at theme parks, on cruises, grilling on weekends, gathering around fire pits, or sharing quiet moments together at home. He was deeply proud of their talents, character, kindness, and individuality, and of the young men they were becoming.

Being a father was the most meaningful role of his life, and the life he shared with his sons remains one of the clearest reflections of who he truly was.

He is remembered for the years when he was fully himself—grounded in what mattered most, guided by strong values, and deeply devoted to his children. He was surrounded by great love, and that love never left; it remains present through his children and in the hearts of those who knew him best.

Josh is survived by his sons, Zackary Ryan Busby and Jake Warren Busby; their mother, Stacie Noel Otto; his brothers, Brad Busby (Karen) and Jason Busby (Genia); his half-brother, Terry Busby; his step-sister, Michelle Earwood; and his niece, nephews, great-niece and great-nephew, aunts, and uncles.

He is also held in loving memory by Stacie’s immediate and extended family, who loved him as their own, as well as a close circle of longtime friends who continue to show up with care and support for his children.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Cook; his father, Billie Busby; his grandparents; extended family members; and his beloved dog, Jewels. He is remembered now in peace, restored and reunited with those who welcomed him home.

Above all, his greatest legacy lives on in his sons, who carry forward his love, laughter, and spirit.

A private remembrance will be held at a later date, in accordance with the wishes of his children. In honoring Josh, may we move forward with strength, honesty, integrity, grace, and understanding.

Written in loving honor of their father, on behalf of his children.
