Born on July 22, 1979, in Kenosha, Joy was the daughter of David and the late Susan (Cooper) Jenkins. She attended Kenosha schools and was a graduate of Reuther High School. Joy was self-employed as an extremely gifted and talented Nail Technician.
Joy was someone who brought life with her wherever she went. She was fun, funny, and full of personality-someone who could make people laugh easily and often. She had a stubborn streak that those closest to her knew well, but it was matched by a deeply nurturing heart, unwavering kindness, and a faith that anchored her life.
Joy had a natural gift for connecting with people. Whether it was a quick conversation over a set of nails or a deep relationship, she made others feel seen, valued, and loved. Her creativity and talent shone through in the way she lived and expressed herself, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
A lifelong and devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, Joy stood by her team through every season-celebrating the highs and remaining loyal through the years when they were not so easy to love. Her passion and unwavering support were just another reflection of her faithful and steadfast spirit.
She will be remembered not only for the presence she brought into a room, but for the genuine care she showed to those around her. Her life reflected her love, faith, and a connection with others that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Joy was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Jenkins (2014)
Joy is lovingly remembered by her father, David (Darlene) Jenkins; her brother, Jim (Amanda) Jenkins; her beloved niece, Brooklyn Jenkins; and her loving boyfriend, Leo Mandujano, along with many extended family members and dear friends who loved her deeply.
Joy's faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She lived with a quiet confidence in her salvation and trust in her
Savior. While her absence is deeply felt, there is peace in knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord she loved.
