Joyce Lynn Eakin, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 12, 2026, in St. George, Utah surrounded by the love she spent her life so freely giving. She was born January 31, 1947, in Santa Monica, California to Charles and Nora Clinton and was the youngest of six children. She was a woman whose heart seemed to have endless room, especially for children. Whether they were her own, her grandchildren, or the kids she met along the way, she had a gift for making every child feel seen, safe, and cherished.
She found joy in simple, sunlit things: the warmth of a sunflower field, the soft San Diego breeze, the laughter of family gathered close. Her sense of humor was quick and bright, the kind that could lift a heavy moment or spark a smile when it was needed most. And if you ever found yourself beside her at a carnival game, you learned fast that her competitive streak was legendary, she played to win, and she usually did.
A tireless worker, she poured her energy into caring for others long before she ever thought of herself. Her generosity wasn’t loud or showy; it was woven into the everyday ways she supported the people she loved. She noticed needs before they were spoken. She gave without hesitation. She loved with a fierceness that made her family feel protected, grounded, and deeply valued.
Her legacy lives on in the people she shaped with her kindness, her humor, and her unwavering devotion. She leaves behind a family who adored her, who will forever carry her strength and warmth in their hearts.
She was the kind of woman who made the world gentler just by being in it. And though she will be profoundly missed, the love she gave remains steady, bright, and enduring.
She is survived by her 4 children David Eakin of Kuna, Idaho (wife Shelley); Kelly Randall of La Verkin, Utah (husband Tim); Julie Eakin of Hurricane, Utah; Kevin Eakin of Loganville, Georgia (wife Olivia); brother John Clinton of Flower Mound, Texas (wife Melba); grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday July 11 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 168 East Wayside Drive, Saratoga Springs, Utah 84045
