Joyce Camella Ellsworth (Benestante)

1945 - 2025

Joyce Camella Ellsworth (Benestante) passed away on September 30, surrounded by family, at the age of 79. She leaves behind her daughter, Dran Alessi; her son, Sean Flournoy, and his wife, Carole; her granddaughter, Gabriella Flournoy, and her partner, Pablo; her great-granddaughter, Francisca Contreras; and her stepson, Samuel Ellsworth, his wife, Ginny, and their family. She is also survived by her sisters Phillis Felix, Relma Elkins, Barbara Porter, and Judy Bachelor.

Joyce was born in 1945 in Houston, Texas, and spent her life in Houston. She took immense pride in her family, her work, and the life she built for those she loved. She had a sharp sense of humor, a generous heart, and a mischievous spirit, always carrying that unmistakable gleam in her eye. She loved family, food, and even a little poker until the very end.

Her family will remember the times spent laughing and cooking together in the kitchen, traveling and exploring new places, and sharing countless stories from her deep memory of many great adventures.

She has now joined the love of her life, her partner, and her best friend, Wallace "Gail" Ellsworth, in a place of limitless happiness, cocktails, and poker chips. Joyce was a unique and loving person who cared profoundly for her family until her last days. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and we carry her love and spirit with us always.

Goodbye, Mom. We'll see you on the other side.
