Joyce "Joya" Elaine De Rossett, 76 of San Jose, CA passed away on February 16th in Woodland, CA.
Born on July 7, 1949 in W. Virginia to loving parents Joe and Roberta, she made her home in many states including TX, AL, ME, LA, and CA. She was known for a life filled with many pursuits including professional work in financial services and tax audits both at the CPUC and independently. On balance she followed lifelong passions for travel, connection to her French heritage and the pursuit of fine and performing arts. In later life she pursued a degree from USF to pursue her passions for applied fine arts (painting, photography, poetry) while continuing her pianist, organist and vocalist callings with the San Jose Symphonic Choir and St. Francis Episcopal Church, San Jose.
She is survived by her brother John De Rossett and sister, Jo Anne (Terry) Meyers; her niece Natalie (James) Kane and great nephew, Jace. She was predeceased by nephew, Cliff Meyer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 18th, 2026 at 12pm at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1205 Pine Avenue, San Jose, CA.
