Joyce Ann Kingery, born on November 25, 1944, in Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, in Concord, North Carolina. She was 81 years old. Born to Fred E. and Marjorie Loyd Kingery, Joyce was lovingly raised in Roanoke and carried the values of faith, family, and service with her throughout her life.

Joyce’s journey through life was marked by devotion—to her family, her work, her community, and most importantly, her faith. She was married to Robert (Bobby) A. Tucker II and later to Ronald R. Repique. Her legacy continues through her beloved children: Robert A. Tucker III and his wife Shauna; Janet K. Tucker and her husband Bart; Tina M. Repique and her husband Anthony; and Elizabeth R. Repique. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren—Da'Mon, Nate, Michael, Tucker, Kayleigh, Karmen, and Bryan—and one great-grandson, Kade.

A proud Virginian at heart, Joyce lived in several states over the years—including South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia—but always carried a deep connection to her roots in Roanoke. She attended Clearbrook and Cave Spring High Schools before pursuing higher education at National Business College and Central Piedmont College.

Joyce built a meaningful career in information technology and retired in 2014 after 24 years of dedicated service in the IT department at Carolinas Healthcare System.

In retirement, Joyce continued to give generously of her time and spirit. For ten years she volunteered at the Billy Graham Library—a role that perfectly aligned with her deep Christian faith. Her commitment to Bible study enriched not only her own spiritual journey but also inspired those around her.

Travel was another passion that brought Joyce immense joy. Whether exploring the beauty of the United States or venturing abroad, she embraced each journey with curiosity and gratitude. Yet no matter where she went or what she did, nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joyce Ann Kingery’s warmth touched everyone she met. Her kindness was genuine; her faith unwavering; her love for family boundless. Though she has departed this world, those who knew and loved her will carry forward the light she shared so freely.

May Joyce’s memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all whose lives she graced.

Pastor Scott Davis of Pitts Baptist Church in Concord NC will officiate the graveside service which will be held on February 3, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 02:15 PM at Carolina Memorial Sanctuary 2041 Old Fanning Bridge Road. Carolina Memorial Sanctuary is a conservation and green cemetery and so will be a different experience compared to what you may be used to. Burial will take place in a natural setting. You will need to wear walking shoes as if you were going out in nature (no heels, sandals, or dress shoes). If it is supposed to rain, you may want to wear boots or shoes that can get muddy. Dress however you feel comfortable and formal attire is not necessary.
