Joyce Marie Pearson

Joyce Marie Sturgis-Pearson, 80, of Gary, Indiana, passed away on December 5, 2025. Born September 23, 1945, to the late Carrie Brown, Joyce attended Roosevelt High School in Gary. She worked for Washington Janitorial for many years and later for Superior Cleaning Company.
Joyce was a loving, selfless woman with a forgiving heart. She cherished family gatherings and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Sturgis, and sister/cousin, Irma J. Stinson. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Carolyn Crawford and Samella Johnson; three children, Patrick Sturgis, Shelley Phillips, and Tolonna Pearson; five grandchildren, Davionna Herrod, Marteese Patterson, Kaylyn Pearson, Jasmin Phillips, and Jeremiah Phillips; a special cousin, Ernest Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
