Joyce Polcyn, 83, of Ellison Bay, Wisconsin passed peacefully on December 31, 2025. Joyce was battling dementia and was with her son, Todd, in her final moments. She was a loving and caring woman who lit up every room she entered.
Joyce was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 5, 1942 to parents Marvin and Margaret (nee Jensen) Reich. She obtained her Associate's Degree from Harper College. While working at a bank, Joyce met her coworker, Lamont Polcyn. The two fell in love, and in 1964, she married him at Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago.
Joyce worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, starting off at Fannie May Chocolates. In later years, she did new construction home sales, taught children with disabilities, and took care of her two sons as an at-home mom. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family, seeing live music, and taking her dog, Sage, on daily walks.
Joyce is survived by her children, Kurt (Karlie) and Todd; her sisters Margie (Bill) and Ann (George); and her grandsons, Ethan and Luke.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Judy (Frank) and Lorelei (Andy); her brother Tony (Noreen); her wonderful dog Sage; and her loving husband Lamont.
The family would like to thank Alan Scimeca and his team at Radcliff Senior Living for taking care of Joyce during hospice. They would also like to thank the Door County Sheriff Department, family, neighbors, and friends, including Mary and Bruce, and Sheryl and Pastor Jim, for assisting with Joyce.
At Joyce's request, she was cremated and will be honored with a private celebration of life ceremony for her and Lamont. The ceremony will be held on Friday, February 6 at Pavilion Restaurant / Banquet Hall at 577 S Waukegan Road in Northbrook. If you would like to join, RSVP to Todd (
