Joyce Schneier

Joyce Nathalie Schneier (née Broder), a devoted lover of the arts and a lifelong seeker of beauty and meaning, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. She was 94 years old.

Born on March 21, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, Joyce grew up in Long Beach,
Long Island surrounded by the vibrant culture of the city that would inspire her lifelong passion for creativity and exploration. Her artistic journey began early and continued throughout her life as she immersed herself in painting, studying the masters, and embracing mid-century artworks. Joyce’s own creations were eclectic and ever-evolving, reflecting her curiosity and openness to new ideas. She delighted in discovering emerging artistic voices and sought to deepen her understanding of human imagination through her engagement with the arts.

Joyce shared this passion with her late husband, Frederick Schneier. Together, they built a life rich with intellectual pursuits and cultural experiences. They were avid readers who found joy in attending theatre performances, concerts, and visiting museums and galleries. Their shared love for the arts was a cornerstone of their life together.

In addition to being an artist herself, Joyce was a devoted mother to her daughters Diane Schneier Perrin and Robin Schneier. She cherished her family deeply and found immense pride in their accomplishments. Tragically predeceased by both Frederick and Robin, Joyce carried their memories with grace while continuing to nurture the bonds that remained.

She is survived by her daughter Diane Schneier Perrin; son-in-law Bryce Perrin; and grandson Alec Perrin. Joyce’s legacy lives on through them as well as through those who knew her as a thoughtful observer of life’s beauty and complexity.
