Joyce "Ginger" (Sutton) Gillis of Englewood, FL passed away peacefully January 7, 2026. She was 72.
Daughter of Albert and Joyce Sutton. Ginger was one of seven siblings and was predeceased by her sister Doreen Bellone, brothers Albert Sutton, Stephen Sutton, Floyd Sutton, Robert Sutton, and nephew Brian Sutton. She was a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1970.
Ginger will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and caring nature. She loved baking and crafts, especially beading. She created countless ornaments and pieces of art over the years that she shared with friends and loved ones. Ginger was also very passionate about recycling and protecting the environment.
She leaves behind her husband, Bob Gills of Englewood, FL for whom Ginger was an amazing caregiver for many years, her step-children; Michelle Ravagni and her husband Paul of Port Charlotte, FL and Rob Gillis and his wife Nadia of Falmouth, MA, her step-grandchildren; Matthew Ravagni and his wife Megan, Nicole Ravagni, Sabrina Gillis, and Sophia Gillis.
Ginger also leaves behind her brother Francis Sutton and his wife Alison, brother- in-law Rich Bellone, sister-in-law Karen Sutton, nieces and nephews; Jacquelyn Cournyn and her husband Michael, Shelly Thompson, Jennifer Sutton, and Tim Sutton as well as 14 great nieces and nephews and 7 great-great nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
