Joyce Ann Thrush (Furlong), age 93, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on August 22, 2025. Joyce was born on November 27, 1931, in Neosho, Missouri.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband, James J. Furlong of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her daughters Carole Suzanne Miller (Scott), Lisa G Ermel (Bruce), and R. Michele Saia (Dan); eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Her legacy will live on in each of them.
From an early age, Joyce was gifted in music. She shared her talent generously, teaching piano lessons to students who learned not only notes and chords, but also a love for music.
Joyce had a way of lighting up every room she entered. Her dinner table was the heart of her home--always full of family, friends, good food, and stories that became cherished memories.
Joyce was a resident of MacKenzie Place, where she fought the ravages of Alzheimer's disease. The family wishes to thank the staff of the memory care unit for their devotion to the residents and family members of those residents. A special thanks also goes to the staff of the Abode Hospice in Colorado Springs.
Memorial donations may be made to the
Alzheimer's Association in Joyce's name.
