Juanita Rose Marie Carranco (née Juarez), age 82, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in Sacramento, California. Born on June 16, 1943, in Sacramento, she lived a life deeply rooted in her faith, family, and community.
Juanita dedicated over four decades of her professional life to the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Throughout her career, she worked in various branches of the DMV, excelling in supervision and management roles. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family and community.
A devout Catholic, Juanita was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for many years, embodying the values of service and compassion that were central to her life. Her faith was a guiding force that shaped her actions and inspired those around her.
Juanita was also an active member of her local community. She contributed significantly to the Gardenland/Northgate Neighborhood Association, serving as both a member and a board officer for many years. Her dedication to improving her neighborhood reflected her deep care for those around her.
Above all else, Juanita cherished her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took immense pride in the accomplishments of her family and was always ready to offer support whenever it was needed. Her unwavering love and encouragement left an indelible mark on those she held dear.
Juanita is survived by her children: Benjamin (Rosemary) Carranco, Xavier (Peggy) Carranco, and Theresa (Phil) Cardona; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Anthony "Tony" Juarez, John Juarez, and Priscilla Ramey. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jesus Carranco; parents Benjamin and Mary Juarez; and brothers Benjamin Juarez, Vincent Juarez, and Lupe "Eddie" Juarez.
Juanita's legacy is one of love, faith, and service—a testament to a life well-lived. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on April 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 1717 El Monte Avenue. A Graveside Service will be held on April 16, 2026, at 02:00 PM at St. Mary's Cemetery 6509 Fruitridge Road. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 16, 2026, from 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Gymnasium 1717 El Monte Avenue
