Judith M. Amerio died peacefully in her home on January 23, 2026 at the age of 85 surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. Judy was born to Christine and Alan Montgomery in Rahway, NJ on May 3, 1940. Judy graduated from Middletown High School in 1958 and earned her nursing degree from Caledonian Hospital on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn in 1959.
Judy met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Amerio at the Jersey shore and they were wed on November 17, 1963, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in New Monmouth, NJ. They moved to Wyckoff in 1965 and shared 54 wonderful years together. Judy and Bob have three children, Susan Fallon (Chuck), Steven (Jennifer) and Kevin (Evelyn) and nine grandchildren, Emily (Andy), Rebecca (Grant), Carson, Francesca, Simone, Josephine, Luciana, James and Peter.
Judy was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Wyckoff for over 50 years. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, nana, aunt, sister and friend. Her greatest joys were spending time with family and friends, especially when it involved sitting on the beach in Surf City, watching New York Giants football and her grandchildren do everything from perform in plays, dance, play in the band or Ramapo Football – she was always their biggest fan.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Judy’s memory to the Valley Hospital Foundation, Valley Hospice, 223 North Van Dien, Ridgewood, NJ 07450 or the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation, One East Wacker Drive, Suite 1730, Chicago, IL 60601.
